Islamic Action Front leader Fathi Yakan, an ifluenced cleric, died after he was hospitalized in serious condition on Friday night, Lebanese media reported. But the Islamic Action Front denied on Saturday that its leader Yakan had died. The front said that he was in critical condition, Naharnet news agency said. Voice of Lebanon radio said erlier that Yakan died at Hotel Dieu Hospital where he was hospitalized the night before. Also, media reports said that Yakan died. Sheikh Fathi Yakan, an Islamic cleric, was born in 1933 in Tripoli. He held a seat in the parliament of Lebanon in 1992. He became involved in Islamic work in Lebanon in the mid 1950s and was a pioneer in the establishment of the Islamic Movement.

Ustaz Dr Fathi Yakan (76 Tahun) telah kembali ke Rahmatullah. Beliau adalah seorang Tokoh Gerakan Islam yang lahir pada tahun 1933. Beliau yang lebih dikenali menerusi karya beliau iaitu "‘Maza Ya’ni Intima’ lil Islami ?' – Apa Ertinya Saya Menganut Islam" sering dijemput ke merata Negara dalam membincangkan perkara-perkara yang berkaitan dengan masalah ummah dan perkembangan gerakan Islam secara khususnya.
